Hi! I've moved my News section over to a Blogspot page... it's better suited for this kind of thing and a lot less of a pain in the ass. So please, if you've ended up here for some reason (like me not wanting to change all my links) head on over to my Blog:

Thanks!!!

Hello All. There is a one night show at the Lab 101 Gallery tomorrow night Saturday December 30th. It is the official closing of Lab 101 so go on down, pay your respects and check out a great line up of artists. And give Freddi C a big hug for me and try not to trash the place. Remember, it's only one night so check it out while you can. Click the postcard for more info:

Ahhhh. I can feel the Fall a coming. The air's feeling brisk and fresh-like and that excites me. Best time of the year. So here's the postcard for my upcoming show at ThinkSpace Gallery in LA. It opens on October 12th and I'm busy at work on it. I'm actually driving cross country to attend the show and hopefully I make it there intact. I haven't had a break in years, so I think I'm due for some adventuring... and hopefully a good bit of relaxing.

And I've also added 3 new prints to the Kehoe shop. My brother also has 3 new prints available as well. Please check it out and support your local Kehoe.

I've got two great shows coming up. The first is titled, "Days of Being Wild" and is opening at Lab 101 Gallery in Los Angeles on August 25th... well, Culver City actually but from what I can gather, It's close. Culver City... sounds like a place people get shot in the back in saloons or maybe get a bullwhip around the neck and dragged by horses mounted by wild, dirty men shooting guns in the air... then they spit chaw on you as they circle around your battered body and laugh at you and call you a "yellow-bellied snake in the grass" and tell you to "never set foot in this town again." But I'm sure it's nothing like that. Anyways, the show also features Kathleen Lolley and Evan B. Harris. Both of which are two of my favorite artists, so needless to say... I'm excited.

And the other is at ThinkSpace Gallery in Los Angeles and opens on October 12th... more on that later because I have to get back to work on that very show... It's a comin. Hope to see scores of you people there.

So I've updated the site with all the new work from the "Trouble, Pass Me By" show at Jonathan LeVine this past weekend... the show was awesome by the way. Everyone involved was top notch bee's knees fantastic and all the work was amazing. All around, I had a great, great time in New York over the weekend. Somehow I even managed to have so much fun that I got booted out of Lit after the preview on friday night... not sure why yet although I feel AJ Fosik had a lot to do with it. Before I got the boot, I remember AJ flailing his legs around like a epileptic ninja and all of a sudden I'm out on my ass. Thanks a lot AJ. Thanks a lot. The only other reason I could think of is just dancing and having way too much fun doing it... New York does look down on this unbridled showing of enjoyment. Sorry New York. I'll keep it cool next time. But it was amazing meeting some artists I've always wanted to as well. I got to run into Jonathan Weiner and Emily McKellar, and I had a hell of a time hanging out with them... and Viner even got a Kehoe dance swarm on him and survived. Anyone that comes out of that alive must be good of heart. We once did that to some guy at Union Pool and he came out screaming with blood streaming from his eyeballs and half an arm. Guess he didn't have the goods. Shame.

05.04.07

Well, All my work is now in New York and I can take a sigh of relief. ahhhh. relieving. I'll be in New York for the opening and afterparty of course. From what I can gather, it's going to be at Arcade in Brooklyn. Which is a bar full of old school arcade games that take me right back to my youth. Awesome! Rampage here I come... I can also do with a little Double Dragon. Maybe I'll bust out my huge Blind pants and Hookups Japanimation tee shirt and relive my teenage days or skateboarding and spending coutless quarters on Street Fighter II. Anways, I hope you can make it to the show and to the afterparty where I'll beat your ass at Street Fighter (this goes out to you AJ. and no blaming the "sticky" joystick or the "broken buttons") I'll be sharing a gallery with the awesome Matt Haber. And AJ Fosik and Vitche will both be having Solo exhibits in the other two galleries. Very exciting.

Oh, I'll be posting the new work on my site as soon as it goes up on the Jonathan LeVine site. They will be selling the work before the opening if you feel so inclined.

03.23.07

Woah, two updates in two days... it's astounding. I must be out of my mind. So I've just added three more prints available for purchase from my shop page. They look great, smell great and make a great... Easter present. You know, I've got Three new prints and Jesus rose from the dead Three days after he was crucified, someone denied following Jesus Three times before a rooster crowed or something like that... someone's ear got cut off at some point and Three times four is twelve... the number of apostles. Just trust me on this. It's perfect. Oh, I think I'm adopting a dog named Georgie in a couple weeks, so help daddy feed his baby. Baby hungry.

He looks a lot like the dog from one of the paintings I did last year. Doesn't he? Awesome. Maybe I'll meet a giant walking crow that wants to kill me next... and I'll totally whale on the dude! What! What! That's what I thought... pussy.

03.22.07

I have a page in the new Juxtapoz in the Profiles section... pretty cool. I had to write a little statement to go with my artwork and I got to reread what I sent them. I think I was pretty pissed at the world that day.

So I'm hard at work for the Jonathan Levine show coming up on May 12th. I won't be posting any new work until after the opening. What an asshole I am. Why even come back to this site? booooring. Well, I'm adding three more prints soon and maybe I'll write some shit every once in a while. Maybe.

Also, I've rewritten my Bio... it's much more appropriate and tells of an unknown and mysterious side of me that you could not have ever even imagined possible.

Oh, you should check my brother Ben's site if you haven't already. Lot's of good stuff. Some people have asked me if Ben is my brother or my alter ego. hahaha! hmmmm....

02.07.07

So I got my copy of the Beasts! book and it's pretty damn outstanding. There will be a book signing on February 24th at Giant Robot in New York that I will be attending with much more renowned artists than myself. But never the less, I will be there signing copies of the book for anyone that would care for such a thing. Woo! Should be good times and I look foward to meeting the other artists.

I will also be attending the Brazilian Street Art show at Jonathan Levine Gallery that should be pretty amazing. Fully Recommended.

01.10.07

Happy New Years! What a year it's been so far. Last week I thought I was dying from some sort of heart attack... but from what I gather it was a panic attack. But I really wasn't feeling very panicked at the time. In fact, i was feeling pretty relaxed and was having a nice, quiet night watching a movie and drinking a beer then BAM! AHHHH! MY FUCKING HEART! Who knows? Maybe the world has a way of creeping under you skin and hitting you with a sudden and crippling sense of fear and bewilderment. Crazy and I don't like it one bit.

But onto the good news! I'm going to be in a group art show at Black Maria Gallery this weekend for a show called the 11th Commandment. Featuring Artists: Andy Kehoe, Craig LaRotonda, Matt Burlingame, Ken Garduno, PJ Fidler, Leanne Biank, Jack Howe, Karen Davison, Andrew Hem and Greg Noppe. For more information check out their site:

Black Maria Gallery

Also, the Beasts! book by Fantagraphics is coming out very, very soon if not very, very now. It might be out now but who knows. I'm not even sure what day it is. There is a Beasts! book signing coming to New York soon... I'm pretty sure anyways. But I might make it up for that and reunite with my knife-fighting gang in Brooklyn.

11.27.06

Ok. Here's the invite for the upcoming show at Harmony Gallery on December 8th. I'll actually be at this opening and it will be my first trip over to LA... take warning.

Also, I'm involved in an art show called A Piece Apart in New York that i never got to post. But the show is still hanging and you should check it out if you haven't already. A portion of the procedes goes to a great cause, so here's a chance for you to get off that naughty list before Santa makes his rounds. I was so naughty one year that he beat me with a stocking full of quarters and then dragged me old-west-style from his sleigh. So trust me, you want to be off that naughty list. Here's the info.

So I've added a new Shop section to my site where you can purchase limited edition fine art giclee prints of work... wow. I'm not the most gifted web designer, but I'm pretty sure I've got it up and running correctly. I guess i won't really know until someone purchases one... wink. wink. I hope to have some t-shirts up soon as well. Enjoy!

10.10.06

Ive put some new work up in the painting section, so check it out and witness the fruits of my labor. Some of this work is hanging in a nice Swedish clothing store called Dunderdon located at 272 Lafayette St. in the bright lights of New York City... and some of it is hanging in their store in Sweden as well. I am currently working on a cover for a great Pittsburgh band named the Sexes. After that, feverish work on the upcoming show at Harmony in December... many more sleepless nights ahead. Also, in my lapse of updates during the summer, i didn't mention the awesome show "Under the Table" at Black Maria in Los Angeles. They're a great crew and somehow I've weasled my way into their fine establishment. muhahaha! (twisting mustache) Anyways, the show was amazing and you should check out their site when you have a chance. Here's the flyer for the show even those it's ungodly late... my brain is resembling a soft pile of dogshit lately. It's only a matter of time before it turns white and drifts away in a rainstorm.

I'll be showing with them again in the waning weeks of winter, so check back for updates on that. And finally, I'll have some giclee prints for sale on my site VERY VERY soon. I'm getting proofs right this very moment and as soon as i figure out how to set up an online store it's on!

09.12.06

So yeah... been 4 months since I've updated this. I had a crazy summer. What can I say? Jeez, give me a break. So I've put a couple new pieces up in the painting section and I've got some shows up and some coming up. Firstly:

I have a piece up in the "Picks of the Harvest: Batch Three" show at ThinkSpace in Los Angeles. There's a TON of great work in this show and certainly worth checking out if you're in the area.

I'm also having a three-person show with Kathleen Lolley and Kevin Titzer at Harmony Gallery opening December 8th... this is going to be a great show. Check out their sites for the simple reason that they are amazing. I'll finally be making my way to Los Angeles for this show... I'll be the one sipping boubon with Kathleen while dancing on table tops.

ALSO, I've contributed a piece to a beautiful, beautiful book coming out by Fantagraphics called "Beasts!" It was compiled and forged through the blood, sweat and many, many tears of Jacob Covey. I commend you Jacob. It's a 200 page, full-color, hardback book with 100 contributing artists and is scheduled to be released some time in December. There will also be a gallery show in Seattle and some book signings to come around that time as well. I'll keep you posted. I'm very proud to be involved in this project and from what I've seen... it's going to be quite fantastic! Click on image for Fantagraphics Blog that has more info on this.

And coming next year, I have another group show with Black Maria in Los Angeles, a two-person show with Matt Haber at Jonathan LeVine Gallery in New York and a mini-solo show in the project room at ThinkSpace in Los Angeles. More to come on those.

05.31.06

Alright! So if you haven't noticed yet, I have put some new work up in the paintings section from the Riviera Triennial Show. I had a blast in Brooklyn for the opening and the parts of the weekend i can remember were amazing. Hey, if you ever read this Carl Dunn... did you get home ok?

So coming up this weekend on Saturday June 3rd is the Unicorn Mountain Anthology Vol. 2 release party at ModernFormations in Pittsburgh. Unicorn Mountain is a comic anthology, a literary journal, and a music compilation that does an amazing job of bringing the talent of our fair city of Pittsburgh together... like Voltron or when the Constructicons formed Devastator. But it' not a destructive robot so we'll call it Positivator. The book is 216 pages long and comes with a 19 track CD. Sweet! The opening will feature original art, music and beer and the book will be sold at the ultra special price of $12... and a $3 cover at the door. Here's more info:

Ok, I'm coming to Brooklyn for an opening at the Riviera on Thursday May 4th... I haven't been back to Brooklyn in a while, so the chances of running wild in the streets in a 1980's-Bobcat-Goldthwait-Police-Academy-2-kinda way is very, very possible. In fact, I'm packing a jean jacket and bandana just in case. I'm very proud of the work in the show, and I spent four solid weeks of sleepless nights gnashing my teeth, punching walls and screaming at my crying reflection in the mirror just to get this work done on time...and it was worth it damn it. So if you're in the New York area, come on out to the opening. It's sure to be a damn good time. here's the info:

One of Williamsburg's most active galleries, Riviera has shown almost
150 artists in 50 shows over the past 3 years. Exhibitions of
traditional media - painting, photography, drawing, sculpture - as
well as performance and multimedia - combined with legendary openings
have garnered Riviera a loyal following and a growing number of new
fans both in New York and points beyond.

Alrighty, I'm participating in a massively diverse group show in Brooklyn coming up real, real soon. There's going to be tons of great work, so if you're in the neighborhood, do you self a favor and mosey on over there. Here's the info:

I've also got a show coming up at Riviera in Brooklyn celebrating the third anniversary of their awesome gallery. It will be opening on May 5th, so I'm busy at work right now finishing up these pieces. I've hired a man off the street to whip me mercilessly across the back when i trail off, so I'm extremely focused right now... whether I like it or not. More info on this soon. Well, back to work. There's only so much pain I can take from that damn whip and blood loss might become as issue if I write anymore.

03.21.06

I just added the piece I did for the Unicorn Show at the Nucleus Gallery. Wish I could have made it to the opening, as I'm sure there were many great pieces to intently stare at... but again, I was stranded here in Pittsburgh. But hey, I had an amazing St. Patrick's day celebrating my quarter Irishness in surprisingly non-drunken fashion. I was thinking of making a tee shirt that says, "Kiss Me, I'm Korean/Irish/German." But then I realized I really don't want any sort of stranger approaching me for some awkward mouth to mouth lovin'. I once heard of a guy wearing a similar shirt on St. Patrick's Day and the next thing he knew... BAM! Married, divorced, naked and alone in the middle of the desert all in the course of a single night. When they found him, his arm was completely black and swelled to the size of a rolled-up sleeping bag from the repeated bites of a gila monster. Some say he lost his mind out there in the desert, so be careful with those humorous tee shirts.

I also heard a similar thing happened to the wife-beating and child-abusing Rev. Fred Phelps. This could explain his very skewed and maniacal view of Christianity. And just so you know, I've got a pair of brass knuckles with your name on them Rev. Phelps. One's called "Fire" and the other's called "Brimstone" and they're looking forward to meeting that contempt-filled face of yours. Anyone that doesn't know who this asshole is, look him up and learn the true meaning of insane hatemonger.

Isn't he just the archetype of the religiously deranged, white bigot? it's almost funny. Almost. He also reminds me of that freaky preacher Kane from Poltergeist 2. Where's Tangina when you need her?

03.11.06

Alright... it's the day after the opening, and I have no clue how it went. Hopefully all went well and not too many people were hurt in the process. So as promised, I have posted new images from the show on this here site of mine. I woke up at 9:30 on a Saturday morning, half-hungover from Friday night festivities, but dammit, it had to be done. And done it is... and if I stop typing nonsense, it will be done quicker. So enjoy. Here's a direct link to the Paintings section so you don't have to strain that mouse hand of yours. Jump on that magic link! Hyahh!

Take me Away! Take me Far, Far Away!

For those looking for the availability of the pieces in the "Survival of the Fittest" show, here's the number where you can reach them and inquire. Remember to smile on your side of the phone cause they can tell.

323-957-7967

I'll also have a piece I did for the Unicorn Show up next weekend. Cool, i'm going to go eat some eggs.

03.06.06

I've finally started a News and Info portion of my site... very exciting and oh so professional of me. I'll try my best to keep this updated. So I've got some events coming up that might pique some interest in the hearts and souls of all mankind. First off, I am participating in a great group show curated by Tom Neely in the city of angels, Los Angeles. Here's some info on that:

Survival of the Fittest
13 Artists at Harmony Gallery
5911 1/2 Franklin Ave
Hollywood, CA 90028
http://counterpointrecordsandbooks.com/harmonygallery.html
March 6th through April 17th , 2006

Opening Reception:
Friday, March 10th, 8-10 pm

I unfortunately can't make it to the opening, because I just moved and as you all know... that is quite a money sponge of an operation. But the way I see it, it's just one less opportunity I have of getting drunk and disgracing the family name. But for those of you that can't make it to the opening, I will be posting new work from that show shortly after the opening on this site of mine. So check back after March 10th for new eye goodies.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I'll also have a piece (or two, time permitting) in another group show in the Los Angeles area... I am just spoiling you people rotten over there.

The Unicorn Show
March 18 - April 10, 2006
Opening reception: Saturday, March 18, 2006 (7pm-11pm)
Music by: DJ G.R.uses
Complimentary: Drinks, Unicorn cookies, and Face Painting
Bring in your flyer to recieve a free gift at the door

http://gallerynucleus.com/default.php?sitepage=event&eventID=25

I also won't be making it to this opening for the same reasons perviously listed... although i would love to try some of those unicorn cookies. i bet they taste quite mythical. Remember that little unicorn in the 80's Dungeons & and Dragons cartoon? Yeah, never seemed like he quite fit in and never seemed all that useful... i would've ditched 'em at some point and gotten a dragon or something that could kill and maim.

to all aspiring wizards out there: magic under the influence of drugs and alcohol is both irresponsible and dangerous and most importantly it makes you look like a dumb ass.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

One final tidbit and you can continue doing whatever it is that you do on the internet when you aren't reading this... perverts. I'm on a site called Start Mobile that showcases a bunch of artists and allows you to download their artwork onto that cellular phone of yours for a mere $1.99. Go Technology! And I get a cut of every download, so support a steel town artist for god's sake. Here's the link:

http://www.startmobile.net

I'm somewhere towards the middle-rightish area... or you can just pull down the artists menu. You know what? Go with your gut and trust your insticts and you'll be fine.

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Oh, for all you in the New York/ Brooklyn area, I have two group shows lined up for March and April, so there... some love for the east coast. Stop with the jealousy... your suffocating me. Anyways, more info on that later.
